GM III, x3 by Three

These grunts are long due, but they are finally ready to roll out!

I bought the GM IIIs way back in July last year, but put them in hiatus half way for a long time until recently due to broken parts and having to wait for Bandai to send replacements, which did finally come last month.

For a concise info on these grunts, GM III is an Earth Federation mass production MS that made its debut in Gundam ZZ (UC0088), which also made brief appearances in Char's Counterattack (UC0093) and Gundam UC (UC0096). Unlike its predecessor GM II, which had very little innovative changes over the original GM, GM III boasts significant improvements in armour, power output, and mobility. While Jegan is developed as a successor to GM III, both units are in active deployment as of UC0096.

The GM III's backpack is based on that of Gundam Mk II. That said, the GM III can indeed swap its backpack with Gundam Mk II's. According to the background lore in the instructions manual, the GM III can be equipped with G-Defenser, but there are no records of such use.

GM III's beam rifle. It's the same as that of GM II but with improved output without changing cost or outward appearance.

The Stark Jegan also has the same beam rifle but the front handle cannot be moved.

Missile pods for shoulder mounting and the larger missile launchers for side skirt mounting.

In the lore the missile pods have 2 different kinds of loadout: "Normal Missile Pod" with 4 missiles, or "Option Missile Pod" with 15 micro missiles. In this kit these are of Normal Missile Pods (as seen with a part with the cover open).

GM III with and without the missiles attached. The former does look a lot bulkier with the extra armaments.

Missile pods can "open up" revealing 4 missiles, but this requires part swapping.

And yes, I did build all 9 units at the end. Admittedly it's quite a lot to build, and not easy to put all of them together for a shot ^^;;;

I may take some more pictures of them when I have more time to myself :o

The GM III is a nice kit to build with missiles packs as nice accessories to attach on. While I don't show them, like a lot of the GMs released recently they have a lot of optional hand parts. Speaking of hands, the only problem I have with this kit is that the hands are really loose; they look as if they can't even hold the beam rifle tightly!

Also as with the recent kits (mostly for the GMs) the sticker sheet has a lot of markings for one to use, and spare ones can be used for other kits as well. I always appreciate when they give a lot of options for people to use! ^^
